The Sacrifice Play Kickstarter is LIVE!

In case you haven’t been paying attention, Sacrifice Play – A Tale from the Arbiter Chronicles, is the third novel based on my Mark Time and Parsec Award-winning Arbiter Chronicles science fiction series. It’s in final editing stages now, weighing in at about 60,500 words.

Sacrifice Play cover art by Caio CacauThis time out, the Arbiters are passengers on a military vessel that’s been assigned to test a dangerous new technology. If word of that technology’s existence gets out to the public, the Confederate Navy believes their very way of life could crumble. They’re willing to kill to protect the secret, and the Captain of the CNV Haakon Rodriguez decides to sacrifice his own ship and everyone on board for the good of all.

The Arbiters, aboard the doomed ship, um, disagree. It’s a battle of wills and a battle against the clock as they race to save the ship from its own captain. Caio Cacau’s gorgeous cover painting of Metcalfe and Carson should make it plain that the stakes are high this time out.

The novel will be premiering in time for Shore Leave, and Prometheus Radio Theatre will be in the studio between now and then recording a full cast audio book.

Sound good? You can help make it happen. Visit our Kickstarter page, support the cause, and pick from your choice of goodies in return. Planning to buy the book/eBook anyway? This is the best time to do it! Funds raised will be shared with the voice actors and the production team that’s putting this project together. They’ve brought you the Arbiters for years as a labor of love. I’d sure like to reward them for that.

Sacrifice Play. Tell your friends.

(Seriously, tell them!)

  1. Hi Steven,

The Ship to United States only restriction for the Kickstarter is disappointing for fans in Japan and other international hangouts of Arbiter fans who would like an autographed copy of your book. I wouldn’t mind paying another $5 for postage. Sorry to hear about the difficulties that required legal support and looking forward to summertime listening.

    Cheers,

    • Hi, Bob! You’re not the first to ask about international shipping. This being my first Kickstarter, I just was unsure what I’d be getting into, since normally my international fulfillment on books is handled by a distributor. I also guess I didn’t realize how world-wide the Arbiters’ reach is, and I sure am glad to know that. I’m going to revisit this, and I’ll contact you privately with specifics. If anyone else out there is likewise disappointed about my shortsightedness, please reach out!

  2. I missed the announcement of the audiobook last year, and can’t seem to find it anywhere for purchase. Is it available to buy, or was that Kickstarter only?

    • It will be available to buy! I got hung up reviewing a few different distribution options, but it should be on Audible very soon, and I intend to supply it to Overdrive and Kobo as well. Sorry to keep you waiting!
